HIM Clerk
Health Information Management Clerk
The HIM Clerk is responsible for supporting the Health Information Management department by maintaining accurate and complete patient health records. This role performs a variety of clerical and data management tasks to ensure the integrity, accessibility, and confidentiality of medical records in a hospital setting. This is an entry-level position with opportunities for advancement. On-the-job training provided. This is a full-time, 40 hr/wk position.
QUALIFICATIONS

IT Help Desk
As an integral role within the Information Technology team, the IT Help Desk is responsible for supporting hospital providers, team members, patients, and outside vendors through hardware & software support. This is a full time 40 hr/wk position with On Call rotation.

Financial Counselor
The Financial Counselor will be responsible for verifying the insurance coverage and calculating the patient’s responsibility for the services to be rendered, reviewing payment options to provide the patient the best financial plan for them. This is a full time, 40 hr/wk position. Monday – Friday only. No weekends or holidays.
Education and/or Experience
• High School Diploma
• Two year degree preferred

SIGNIFICANT DUTIES
• Preregistration of a defined group of services for patients including but not limited to: CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Treadmills, Sleep Studies, Doppler, IV Therapy, Echocardiography, Surgeries, and Ultrasound.
• Verify insurance coverage prior to the delivery of services.
• Discuss payment options at point of preregistration.
• Identify, consult and assist patients with potential eligibility for the Medicaid program.
• Serve as a liaison/contact point for patients needing insurance preauthorization services.

Nurse Externship
The Nurse Extern works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with the patient/family care plan to collect patient information and provide direct patient care contributing to the achievement of patient/family outcomes. As a member of the direct care team, the Nurse Extern is responsible and accountable for the complete and accurate collection and recording of data, completion of routine and delegated direct patient care activities and communicating and collaborating under the direct supervision of the RN to prioritize the workload. The Nurse Extern helps to support and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Reports directly to the Acute Care Manager. Works under the supervision of the RN assigned each shift. This is a Full time Temporary position and will work varied shifts, hours, and rotating weekends.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Be enrolled in an accredited nursing program with an expected graduation date between December and Spring immediately following the summer nurse extern experience
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Active Nebraska Nurse Aide Certification and listed on the Nebraska DHHS Medication Aide Registry, by program start date.

Acute RN/LPN - Nights
The RN renders collaborative nursing care via the Method of Practice Patient Coordinated Care to a caseload of patients for an assigned shift in accordance with the healthcare practitioner’s treatment plan, nursing standards of care/practice and professional code of ethics. The RN is committed to promoting the health potential of the patient (body-mind-spirit) through the implementation of the nursing process. Demonstrates ability to delegate appropriately and direct staff in the coordination and delivery of care; assumes responsibility for the appropriate utilization of care resources; demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with others in problem resolution, is sensitive to the needs of patients, families, and fellow workers.
The LPN is responsible for; Providing direct and indirect nursing care with the supervision of a Registered Nurse as described in Nebraska Statute 38; Ensuring continuity of care for assigned patients in the medical/surgical area of Acute Care utilizing the nursing process and carrying out provider’s orders for those patients.
This is a full time, 36 hr/week, night shift position. Hours are 6:30pm – 7:00am. Every 3rd weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) & holiday rotation required. Night shift differential & weekend shift incentive! Sign-on bonus of $7,000 is eligible for the RN position.
RN Qualifications
• Graduate of School of Nursing.
• Current Nebraska State License or Compact license as a Registered Nurse required.
• Clinical and/or work nursing experience in a hospital with ability to perform duties in the acute and skilled nursing setting is preferred.

RN – Surgical Services
The RN Surgical Servies roll will be responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations. This is a full-time position.
PRIMARY FUNCTION

Medical Lab Scientist /Technician
Provide comprehensive patient care in a clinical laboratory setting, ensuring safety and minimizing medical errors. Perform diagnostic testing across all laboratory disciplines—including blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, serology/immunology, urinalysis, and phlebotomy. Verify questionable results and repeat procedures when necessary. Support routine phlebotomy services as needed. This is a full time, 30 hr/wk position with rotating On Call on weeknights, weekends & holidays.
Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, or Chemistry.
• Associate degree in Medical Technology, required

House Supervisor RN - Nights
The Nursing House/Shift Supervisor is responsible for promoting and maintaining quality patient care through the effective management and delivery of patient care during his/her assigned 12-hour shift. A significant portion of time is spent coordinating resources, problem solving, supporting and/or providing direct care delivery, evaluating effectiveness of care, and promoting effective communication. Contributes to implementation and enforcement of Nursing, Medical Staff and Administrative policies and procedures, performance plans, and takes appropriate action. The House/Shift supervisor assumes the lead RN role in the absence of the CNO and Nursing Management staff. This position will also rotate into the ED RN role.
Shifts Avialable:
- Full time, 36 hours per week
- Part time, 24 hours per week
- Night shift positions are from 6:30pm – 7:00am with every 3rd weekend rotation (Fri/Sat/Sun) & holiday rotation.

• Serves as the lead RN for emergency management plan response. Opens incident Command as appropriate. Monitors staff knowledge and response to plan activations.

SIGNIFICANT DUTIES
• Initiates assessment/reassessment based on the patient’s needs per nursing standards and organization policy and procedures.
• Synthesizes pertinent patient data to develop nursing care plans and identify nursing priorities for care and desired outcomes.
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate and provide patient care.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skill in nursing theory and ability to learn and develop competence in patient care across the lifespan.
• Demonstrates the ability to learn new practices and has the ability to practice in multiple settings within the rural hospital – medical/surgical, pediatric, neonatal, emergency and skill care.
• Integrates appropriate standards of care into the patient’s plan of care based on the diagnosis and age-specific needs.
• Executes, directs, supervises and/or assigns other staff members to perform therapeutic and or supportive interventions.
• Evaluate the patient’s response to and effectiveness of interventions.
• Evaluates the patient’s progress toward established outcome.
• Incorporates cultural considerations into the plan/delivery of care.
• Includes family and/or significant others in the care of the patient as appropriate.
• Documents patient care and related information according to Melham procedures for documentation
• Facilitates a patient’s transition to the next level of care including admission, discharge, and transfers.
• Receives calls for patient placement, screens for appropriate admission criteria and notifies the department of patient placement.
• Utilizes knowledge of UR criteria to assist with the appropriate admission status and placement of a patient.
• Demonstrates knowledge of EMTALA regulation and paperwork.
• Assumes responsibility in a shared or delegated assignment and supports team member’s practice through timely communication.
• Services as a role model to colleagues, students, and other care providers
• Actively participates in continued learning opportunities and continued self-development pertinent to all areas of Acute/ED care nursing.
• Proficient in the management of provider orders in CPOE and in the order management system
• Maintains effective communication channels with the entire healthcare team.
• Assist administration with personnel management and other administrative duties as assigned.

• Performs as senior leader in event CNO/nursing management are absent.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Oversees and/or assigns additional work duties during low volume periods when core staffing is in place.

RN-ED-Night shift
The ED RN renders collaborative nursing care via the Method of Practice, Patient Coordinated Care, to a caseload of patients for an assigned shift in accordance to the healthcare practitioner’s treatment plan, nursing standards of care/practice and professional code of ethics. The RN is committed to promoting the health potential of the patient (body-mind-spirit) through the implementation of the nursing process. Demonstrates ability to delegate appropriately and direct staff in the coordination and delivery of care; assumes responsibility for the appropriate utilization of care resources; demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with others in problem resolution, is sensitive to the needs of patients, families, and fellow workers. Reports directly to the Emergency Services Manager. Delegates and directs assigned shift caseload team which may be comprised of RN’s and NSS’s. Must be a Graduate of School of Nursing and have a current Nebraska State RN license. 2-5 years ED or Critical Care experience preferred.
Currently available:
• Full time, 36 hours per week.
• Part time, 24 hours per week.
• Night shift positions are from 6:30pm – 7:00am with every 3rd weekend rotation (Fri/Sat/Sun) & holiday rotation.
• A $7,000 sign-on bonus is eligible with full time positions.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Graduate of School of Nursing
• Current Nebraska State License as a Registered Nurse required.
• On the job experience necessary as determined by department orientation requirements in order to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of department specific structure and/or process standards.
• Interpersonal skills necessary in order to instruct/comfort patients/families; to maintain effective communication/contact with healthcare team members.
• Analytical Skills necessary in order to prioritize workload and prepare nursing care plans, implement effective nursing care and develop solutions to problems concerning patient’s body, mind and spirit.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Outlook and Microsoft Office
• Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire and maintained
• ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire and maintained
• TNCC and NRP within one year of hire
• Job functions must be performed on site with regular attendance.
• Understands that Nebraska is an at will state and that either the employer or employee may terminate the employment relationship at any time with or without cause.

o Assesses and supports genitourinary function.

o Demonstrates knowledge of and ability to perform during trauma care for the following patient presentations:
o Assures each patient receives health care excellence aims of: safe, effective, patient centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care.
• For shift worked, coordinates shift caseload of patients
• Delegates and directs care delivery appropriately
• Coordinates care effectively
• Accurately completes ED log with patient information and disposition
• Utilizes critical thinking skills in the application of the nursing process in the Emergency Department:
• Records & Completes patient triage to identify patient medical treatment needs and intervention level. Supports the initiation of the patient log via tracking board including update of medical diagnosis at disposition.
• Performs focused nursing assessment for presenting condition
• Based on focused nursing assessment initiates ED standing orders.
• Collaborates with Provider in the treatment plan and patient response to care delivery
• Keeps patient and/or significant other informed of care delivery plan
• Continues to reassess and revise the established care plan in relation to the patient’s response to, and the outcomes of the care provided as condition warrants
• Supports and develops Provider discharge plan of care.
• Implements patient/family education based on ED diagnosis, and individualized needs, including actions to take if condition worsens
• If condition does not meet Melham admission criteria, supports patient stabilization and transfer to a higher level of care
ADMINSTRAIVE PRACTICE
• Oversees and provides feedback on work performance of the shift staff and other members of the health care team and provides feedback to the House Supervisor, and/or Manager.
• Functions as RN caseload coordinator on assigned patient load.
• Serves as a preceptor to students and staff as requested.
• Follows chain of command to resolve issues or challenges.
