Pulmonary Rehabilitation Services

The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at Melham Medical Center is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team who provide rehabilitative care to people who have a chronic pulmonary disease that affects their ability to breathe and their quality of life. The goal of our Pulmonary Rehabilitation team is to help patients achieve a more active and rewarding lifestyle while living with lung disease. 

Conditions that are eligible for Pulmonary Rehabilitation
  • COPD
  • Emphysema
  • Asthma
  • Lung cancer
  • other illnesses 
The medical director along with a team of professionals, including the referring (primary) physician, rehab coordinator, respiratory therapist, and others, all contribute to the patients' total well-being and teach them to care for themselves at an optimal level both at home and work.

The Pulmonary Rehabilitation program runs 2 days a week for 12 weeks**. The program is designed to educate patients on the disease process, how to manage the disease, avoid triggers, manage flare-ups, introduce exercises to increase independence and improve overall quality of life. 

Note: Please wear comfortable loose clothing and running shoes to allow for physical activity.
